Venom: Work In Progress

As usual Christmas sapped all of my drive to make anything.
Time to get back down to it.
Gypsy Medusa Woman Drawing.
As always colour to follow.

'Dear Godmachine' - Work In Progress 3

It's getting fairly large now and is taking ages to do anything.
More colours. More additions. More more more.

'Dear Godmachine' - Work In Progress 2

I've been busy a-vectoring.

I know using flares is a sin. But I like them sometimes.

Still a lot of work to do here.
Eyes, more colouring layers on the face, teeth, cross details, more colouring on the hair, gradients on the swirls, background, extras. Stay tuned.

'Dear Godmachine' - Work In Progress

Been perhaps a little obsessed with the work of Godmachine lately.
If you don't know him check him out. http://godmachinedesigns.blogspot.com/ He's got mad skills.

Honour Over Glory - The Return To Blogging

So I've been absent for a little while what with going to America for 3 weeks, not having the internet, going to a festival and generally being lazy. Small piece of advice though - if you don't currently have a phoneline connected, do NOT sign up with talktalk, no matter how cheap it looks, it took nearly 6 weeks to get a phoneline that actually works put in. Ridiculous. Anyway. Now that I have the internet I can post pictures again.
Gypsy Girl as standard. Where would I be without them. The 'Honour Over Glory' comes from this clothing brand that were selling merch at the festival I went to. I liked the name so I stole it. Acrylic, pen, ink & cut out paper on paper.

Work In Progress? The Gypsy And The Moon (Again)

Since last time I posted this I've added up extra layers of paint to most of this. The headband was originally green but it ran too much into the leaves on the rose so I switched it out to purple. The goats skull I painted in yellows and browns and then went over the top in a thin white acrylic so it's translucent. It's actually a bit whiter than it looks on the photo. I've also blocked in the background in a dark purple/dark blue/black mix to try and get it to look like a night sky, probably gonna add some stars on top of that.

Close up of the face. I'm really pleased with how the hair came out, it took a while to work over each area indivdually to get the gradients right in the seperate curls but it was definitely worth it for the effect it gives out.

Close up of the lettering. Pretty standard tattoo style script/cursive writing, which I do a lot. It's a lot harder with a paint brush than with a fineliner.
